MONOPOLY IN THE PARK (MITP) is operated by FRIENDS OF SAN JOSE (FSJ) a non-profit 501c3 organization.
MITP is situated at Discovery Meadow, Guadalupe River Park & Gardens at San Carlos & Woz way, in downtown San Jose, CA.
HONESTY POLICY
FSJ is a small non-profit organization run by an all volunteer board. Please follow the directions and the appropriate fee schedule for your organization so that any misunderstandings may be kept to a minimum. The entire purpose of Monopoly in the Park is to bring fun to children and adults of all ages
CANCELLATION POLICY
RENTAL FEE
The appropriate rental fee must be paid in full three (3) weeks prior to the approved reservation date.

CANCELLATION POLICY
- If the party cancels their reservation less than ten (10) days prior to the event FSJ will withhold the $150 security deposit.
- If the event is cancelled due to rain a full refund will be given.
RENTAL FEE
The appropriate rental fee must be paid in full three (3) weeks prior to the approved reservation date.

YOUTH GROUP EVENTS
- An adult must sign an agreement for events involving youth groups.
- One adult for each fifteen youths) must be present at al times during use of site.
ADULT SPONSORS OR CHAPERONS
- One adult (for each fifteen youths) must be present at all times during use of site.
INDEMNITY
- The renter agrees to assume full financial liability and responsibility for any damage or loss of objects or property belonging to or managed by FSJ, for any accident or injury incurred by the renter or renter's contractors or renter's guest during or as a result of such use.
SET-UP AND CLEAN-UP
- Renter must clean up and remove all excess garbage and waste materials.
FOOD AND DRINK
- NO alcoholic beverages are allowed (except when permitted by City of San Jose).
- When alcohol is present, the City of San Jose requires two reserve police officers to be present and the COST of Police Officers are at the renters expense.
- Rental fees for MITP do not include any catering costs.
MUSIC AND ENTERTAINMENT
- NO amplified sound is allowed on the site (except when permitted by City of San Jose).
SIGNS
- NO signs, banners or decorations are allowed on trees or other park features.
- All event decorations must be pre-approved by Friends of San Jose (FSJ).
AMENITIES
- Depending on size and nature of function, portable restrooms and dumpsters may be required at the renter's expense and with required permit(s).
OTHER
- FSJ retains the right to cancel an event at any point should the renter fail to comply with any terms and conditions contained in the agreement. FSJ will not be responsible for permit or logistical co-ordination of renter's event. FSJ reserves the right to request law enforcement assistance and to close any event that threatens persons or property or otherwise violates the terms of the agreement. Gambling, unruly conduct and language are prohibited.
